Ore exploration drilling will be carried out in the ore exploration permit area ML2012:0036-01 Sakatti 1-5. With the consent of landowners, drilling activities mainly related to hydrological surveys will be carried out for the EIA report in the ore exploration permit areas ML2018:0070-01 Kuusivaara and ML2018:0077-01 Pahanlaaksonmaa. Geophysical measurements will also be conducted in some boreholes.

The drilling activities in the Viiankiaapa nature conservation area will only begin when the snow and ice cover provide sufficient protection to the area. In the meantime, activities will take place outside the nature conservation area. The activities of the Oraniemi reindeer herding cooperative are taken into account when performing the work.
